Jade

Jade has had many uses over the past 5,000 years! Everything from axe heads, to talismans to jewelry. It is a very tough gemstone registering at a 6 hardness on the Moh's scale. Jade is very commonly used in Asain art but has a had cultural significance in other cultures including the Māori, Mesoamerica and in Canada. Funnily enough jade was largely ignored in favor of gold in Canada until the 1970s!
